Chinemelu Elonu scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Texas A&M to a 57-52 victory over McNeese State on Saturday night. The Aggies (13-1) went scoreless for more than six minutes late in the game and nearly gave back a nine-point lead. Josh Carter ended the drought when he sank a jumper with 2:29 left to lift A&M to a 54-52 lead. Carter then snared a crucial rebound with 49 seconds remaining to help preserve the victory.

The combination of senior All-America candidates Takia Starks (Houston, Texas) and Danielle Gant (Oklahoma City, Okla.) combined for the entire opponent team total in No. 3 Texas A&Ms 83-51 blowout of No. 25 New Mexico Tuesday night before a season-high crowd of 5,543 at Reed Arena.
It marked the Aggies third win over a top 25 opponent this season and the largest margin of victory (+32) over a ranked opponent in school history. A&M, off to its best start in 35 seasons of Aggie Basketball, remained undefeated on the season at 11-0.

The Aggies (6-1) trailed 40-29 at halftime and had been out-rebounded 20-5 at that point.

A&M improved to an undefeated 7-0 on the season and picked up its second-ever road victory over SFA (4-3) in seven tries in Nacogdoches. Head coach Gary Blair, who coached the Ladyjacks from 1985-93, was inducted into the schools Hall of Fame at halftime with words from University President Dr. Baker Pattillo and several of his former SFA players in attendance for the special occasion.

Griffin threw touchdown passes of 31 and 55 yards and Jacoby Jones ran for two scores after taking late pitches from Griffin in Baylors 41-21 victory Saturday. It was only the second time the Bears won in their last 23 meetings against Texas A&M.

Marve, a redshirt freshman making his second career start, completed 16 of 22 passes for 212 yards. The Hurricanes (2-1) piled up 398 yards on 57 plays -- an average of 6.98 yards per offensive snap -- and handed A&M its worst nonconference defeat at Kyle Field since a 30-10 loss to Alabama in 1988.

Texas A&M earned its third Big 12 regular season title on Sunday. The defending postseason champion will be the top seed in the 2008 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship, which is scheduled for May 21-25 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City. The Aggies will open play on Wednesday

Back-to-back hits by freshmen Rhiannon Kliesing and Natalie Villarreal in the bottom of the fifth frame gave the fifth-ranked Texas A&M softball team (52-7) all the run support it would need to secure its spot in the NCAA Softball Super Regional as Megan Gibson tossed her second-career no-hitter to beat Louisiana Tech (37-29) 6-0 in Sunday’s championship game of the College Station Regional.

Texas A&M senior Megan Gibson was named the 2008 Big 12 Softball Championship Most Outstanding Player, tossing a three-hit shutout as the fifth-ranked Aggie softball team (49-7) pounded out 10 hits to sweep both the regular season and tournament titles with the 5-0 victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers (25-27) in front of 736 fans in the title game on Sunday at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. It is the first Big 12 Tournament title for the Aggies in program history, their third conference trophy in the past four years.

The Texas A&M softball team earned the No. 5 national seed and will host an NCAA Regional this weekend at the Aggie Softball Complex, the selection committee announced Sunday. Traveling to College Station for the three-day, double elimination regional will be Auburn, Louisiana Tech and Stephen F. Austin.

No. 5 Nebraska took advantage of six Texas A&M miscues and eight free passes to rally for a 13-10 victory and a doubleheader sweep of the fifth-ranked Aggies on a Sunday afternoon before 7,653 fans at Hawks Field.
A&M lost only its second Big 12 series of the year—and first since March—while falling to 42-10 and 19-5 in conference play. The Huskers improved to 38-9-1 and 17-6-1. NU took the first game of the twinbill, 9-8, with a five-run ninth inning rally.

Kyle Colligan’s walk-off home run to open the 10th inning lifted No. 6 Texas A&M to a 3-2 win over and a series sweep of fourth-ranked Missouri Sunday afternoon before 3,744 fans at Olsen Field.
Colligan smashed a first-pitch fastball from Tiger pitcher Rick Zagone over the fence in left center, just underneath the scoreboard, for the junior’s first walk-off home run of his career.
The Aggies (37-7, 18-3 Big 12) won their 15th straight league game and have now swept the last five Big 12 series. Mizzou, meanwhile, fell to 29-14 and 9-9.

Blake Stouffer’s two-out single in the 11th scored Kyle Colligan from second base and completed Texas A&M’s wildest comeback win in years, as the eighth-ranked Aggies tied the game with a six-run ninth en route to a 13-12, 11-inning win over Baylor Sunday afternoon before 3,737 fans at Baylor Ballpark.
Texas A&M tied a school record with their 12th consecutive league victory, remaining in first place at 15-3 and improving to 33-7 overall. The Bears, who were swept by the Aggies for the first time in Big 12 play, fell to 23-17 and 8-10.

The fourth-ranked Texas A&M softball team completed the two-game sweep of the Kansas Jayhawks with an 8-0 run-ruling in front of 1,056 fans on Senior Day at the Aggie Softball Complex.
The win kept the Aggies in first place in the Big 12 standings with a 14-1 record. A&M is 42-7 overall. Kansas fell to 30-15 on the season and 4-8 in league play with their fifth straight loss.

Texas A&M completed its third consecutive Big 12 series sweep on Sunday as the 8th-ranked Aggies run-ruled Oklahoma, 12-2, in seven innings before 4,301 fans at Olsen Field.
A&M improved to 30-6 on the year and 12-3 in league play while winning its 13th straight game. The Sooners fell to 22-13-1 and 3-8-1. The Aggies matched a school record with their ninth Big 12 win in a row and became the first A&M team since 1991 to sweep three straight conference series.

Texas A&M’s record-setting run in the 2008 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship came to an end and one game short of the Final Four as the second-seeded Aggies fell to top-seeded and third-ranked Tennessee, 53-45, in the Oklahoma City Regional finals Tuesday night before a crowd of 9,341 at the Ford Center.
The Aggies, whose previous best NCAA Tournament run was a Sweet 16 appearance in 1994, finishes the season at 29-8 overall marking a school record for wins after having won 16 of their final 18 final games of the year.
